West Coast REBAR Announcement

Last night, a leading rebar manufacturer announced a $40/ton price increase on rebar effective on all new orders for the Western US supply. This manufacturer had been sliding behind on rollings, and the move was likely done to curb the flow of new orders to “catch up”. Still the move was unexpected, and it will be interesting to see if the other mills follow suit with versions of their own or maintain current pricing and opt to garner market share.
